Episode 5 - Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor Bob Derbyshire

This week’s guest is the Lord Mayor of Cardiff - Cllr Bob Derbyshire.

Bob kindly took time out to tell me about the role and how in the eyes of many, the Lord Mayor is still an important position in the city.

He outlines the part the Mayor plays in enhancing Cardiff’s reputation to the rest of the world and reflects on the great leap from the trenches of frontline local politics to the neutrality demanded by the mayoral role.

We also reflect on how the city has transformed and what that has meant for people he has represented in his Rumney ward since 1999.
