FAO to launch agriculture campaign in Abyei

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization - FAO is launching a campaign designed to prepare farmers in Abyei to cultivate at least two fedans of food to last until the next season.

The campaign starting today Monday is targeting farmers in nearly 200,000 households in Abyei.

Victor Onenchan, head of office for Food and Agricultural Organization FAO, says farmers will be encouraged to produce enough food to fill the food gaps resulting from last year’s low production.
