The Spotlight with United Nations Volunteer Mafizul Islam, Human Rights Officer from Bangladesh

Mafizul Islam, is a United Nations Volunteer - UNV from Bangladesh, working with as a Human Rights officer with the Human Rights Division of United Nations Mission in South Sudan - UNMISS.

His most proud moment is when he went to Yambio in Western Equatoria and taught people how to get clean water.

"I had an opportunity to work with the local people, taught them how to create saline and decontaminate the water, making it safe to drink and that is a very proud moment for me," said Mafizul.

Mafizul is a Human Rights activist, the leader of a youth movement for protesting early marriage and an active blogger, content writer for Forbes and TechCrunch and the member of Bangladesh Computer Council.

"As a United Nations Volunteer, you get a feeling that wherever you are deployed is your home, and your interactions with the local people becomes your way of life, so enjoy it."
