SRSG meets Information Minister Makuei over Radio Miraya

The UN Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan - David Shearer, met with Information Minister Michael Makuei and other government representatives on Friday to discuss the impasse over the regularization of Radio Miraya operations in the country. 

The discussions centered round the registration of the UN Radio with regard to a standing Status of Force Agreement with the national government. 

Mr. Shearer described the meeting as ‘positive’ and said the meeting agreed to have a legal team come in from the UN Headquarters in New York to give a legal interpretation.
