New data protection law comes into force this morning, after weeks of emails from companies demanding consent in the name of GDPR.

The EU regulation’s meant to give us more control over our data, but the real test will be whether companies comply, and whether member states can hold them to account.

In the UK, that job is done by the Information Commissioner’s Office, - Nick Howard quizzes their head of communications, Robert Parker.
