So good they named it twice. Both Derry and Londonderry on road signs for the new A6 upgrade. That's what the SDLP are calling for, is that a good idea?

The SDLP has asked road chiefs to use the word Derry alongside Londonderry, on new roadsigns - in a compromise on the city's longstanding name row. MLA Mark H Durkan contacted the permanent secretary Peter May with the request that he believed would end sign vandalism - but was told no. The response said "the primary destination already used should be the starting point when designing new or replacement signs". "Londonderry" is already on existing signs and therefore it is the name that will be used..."
