"Apocalyptic" delays from Brexit Dover border checks - Rod McKenzie of Road Haulage Association on Jazz FM Business Breakfast

More than seven thousand lorries a day pass through the Port of Dover, with thousands more arriving and departing around the country.

With 85 percent of Britain’s goods travelling by road, the government’s pushing ahead with updating trailer registration systems despite the legislation not being passed, to be ready for Brexit.

It's also proposing an update to Operation Stack, intended to keep Kent's roads clear in case of "cross channel disruption", although it's been criticised for not mentioning the EU exit.

Rod McKenzie, the Road Haulage Association’s director of policy, is concerned any border delay will quickly build into massive problems.
