Alliance Cllr hits out at vote backing circus to use council-land as he objects on animal rights basis - Cllr John Blair and David Duffy from Duffy Circus debate

An Alliance Party councillor has hit out at council approval for a circus to be held on a council-owned park. John Blair, who sits on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, believes council should not have approved the Duffy's Circus to take place in Lough Shore Park in Jordanstown on an animal rights basis. A vote taken at council showed 23 voting for the approval of the circus to use council land and 13 against. The circus event will now go ahead on the site from this Wednesday.
