Jun 13, 2018, 04:07 PM

For the next episode of new podcast series Moving Averages, we spoke to Walbrook Economics Director Ewen Stewart about the UK economy.

Ewen Stewart is the founder of Walbrook Economics, which is a consultancy specialising in the interaction of macroeconomics, politics and capital markets, prior to which he worked as an equity strategist for major investment banks including Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and ABN AMRO.

The subject of the podcast is a piece of research written by Ewen Stewart for Walbrook Economics on the outlook for the UK economy after poor Q1 GDP numbers.

The interview was conducted by economist Scott Evans, who is the co-author of the Numis Smaller Companies Index and has held positions such as First VP of Research at Merrill Lynch & Head of Equity Research at Espirito Santo.

Ewen and Scott discuss whether the figures, which were the slowest quarter of growth since Q3 2012, were an anomaly, or if they are a worrying sign of a more longterm slowdown.

This podcast is the third episode in a new series from Vox Markets called Moving Averages, which features expert market analysis, interviews with top traders & commentators, and more.
