SRSG David Shearer addressed News Conference in Juba following attack on Peacekeeper

[…] "We want to make sure that the killers of Lt Commander Sidiqui are found and that secondly it serves as a reminder to others who want to do the same kind of thing there is no such of thing as impunity when it comes to attacking the UN.”

Addressing a press briefing in Juba this morning, Special Representative and head of UNMISS, David Shearer said the UN would consider further action on the international forum to hold the perpetrators to account.

He also spoke about the fighting in the Unity state, provided updates on the humanitarian front and the ongoing peace efforts.
