"We will not give up on looking for Peace in South Sudan," says UN Deputy Secretary General

The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations is encouraging the women of South Sudan not to lose hope, as they continue to face trauma and tragedies of war. 

While meeting with women at the UN Protection of Civilian site in Wau yesterday, Amina Mohammed said the women must work together to overcome the impact of the conflict and forge a way forward. 

 The Deputy UN Chief, accompanied by the AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security, listened to personal accounts from survivors of gender-based violence. Ms. Mohamed pledged their continued support and said the women must ‘not tire’ or get frustrated.
