Episode 378,   Jul 11, 2018, 09:00 AM

The army says the verdict of a case against 13 SPLA soldiers accused of staging an attack on the Terrain Hotel in Juba is waiting the approval of the top army leadership.

The comments come hours after the Undersecretary-General and UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten called on the government to expedite the announcement of the verdict.

Ms. Patten said the perpetrators of the rape, looting and murder orchestrated in the July 2016 attack should be held to account.

Army spokesperson Brig Lul Ruai Kuong told Philip Wani that patience is needed as the army top brass studies the verdict reached by the general army court martial.
