New Zealander making a difference through Teaching in South Sudan

Sister Monica, a New Zealand nun, is working as a teacher trainer in Yambio, South Sudan.

Her main focus is helping educate a generation of young south sudanese who will become future teachers. 

She has in her ten years of dedicated service seen about 200 young South Sudanese graduate into professional teachers.

Francesca caught up with Sister Monica who left her home in New Zealand and has for the last ten years remained in Yambio sharing her skills and training the country’s future teachers.

Sister Monica explains what inspired her to travel almost 15,000 kilometers from New Zealand to share her skills in South Sudan.
