Parliament extends tenure of TGoNU by three Years

Parliament on Thursday passed a motion extending the tenure of the transitional government of national unity for another three years.

A joint sitting of Parliament and the Council of States unanimously passed the Constitutional Amendment Bill this morning, extending the government's mandate for another three years.

Paul Yoanne Bonju, is the chairperson of Parliament’s information committee. He told journalists that the move is to avoid a political vacuum as the mandate of the transitional government is set to expire in August.
