Several feared dead in attack on Duk-Pagak in Jonglei state
Several people are feared dead following an attack in Duk-Pagak town of Jonglei state.
Gunmen stormed the town yesterday morning and looted merchandise from businesspersons before organised forces intervened.
Jonglei state governor Philip Aguer says the incident appears to be in revenge for a deadly ambush on a convoy of cattle traders in Pagak last Friday, in which four traders were killed and at least 70 head of cattle stolen.
Aguer says the number of casualties from yesterday’s incident is still being established.
