07/16/2018 Soccer Matters Hour 1

Jul 17, 2018, 02:16 AM

Glenn recaps the World Cup Final, France’s impressive victory, and compliments Houston’s soccer fandom. Glenn notes Croatia had 61%+ possession in the game but France made it count best. Glenn asks callers, asking what your favorite WC moment was. He also notes that all three top placing teams arrived home to huge celebrations. A caller notes that he believes this title will help M’Bappe emerge as one of the top soccer stars on the planet. After the break, a caller notes that if this wasn’t the best World Cup ever, it was the best World Cup group stage ever. Caller A.Y. points out that Germany will go down as the most disappointing, and Croatia as most surprising, and Deschamps of France of best coach. At the end of the hour Glenn has on the owner of The Gorgeous Gael, Peter Kingston talk about why it was great to host so many watch parties at the restaurant. Then, Glenn makes note of Russian punk activist band P**sy Riot running on the field at the 51st minute of the Final.
