An animated film's been screened in Canterbury, showing how a teenager fled from the war in Syria and found a new life in Kent.

Rand and her family were offered a life-line by the British government's relocation programme and settled in Tenterden.

The 16-year-old and her brother Omar started school in 2015 as the first students to speak Arabic at Homewood.

The short film's been played at the Gulbenkian to raise awareness of refugees.
