The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation (JMEC), has called on the warring parties to embrace the spirit of compromise at the revitalization forum and end the conflict.

Lt. Gen. Augostino Njoroge, JMEC Deputy Chairperson Ambassador says steps that have been taken towards the Peace Agreement revitalization process are “encouraging,” but is advising the Parties to endeavor to resolve the outstanding issues.

"The achievement of peace in South Sudan is a collective process.  We must all make the decision that the conflict and especially the senseless killings need to stop and say Enough is Enough,” he said.

Ambassador Njoroge was speaking during the closing ceremony of a workshop for youth on the peace process.

The four-day workshop was attended by more than 200 students from the Youth Peacemaker Network at the Juba-based Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative.

The forum provided training on the 2015 peace agreement, the 2017 Cessation of Hostilities deal and the High-Level Revitalization Forum.
