Sudanese mediators say the initialing of a final power-sharing deal by South Sudan parties in Khartoum has been delayed after the government delegation requested more time to consult.
Sudanese Foreign Minister, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed told journalists in Khartoum that initialing was pushed from Thursday after the delegation requested more time to negotiate on the outstanding issues regarding the number of vice presidents, members of parliament and the ministerial posts.
Al-Dirdiri said the government team suggested that the discussion should focus more on the permanent ceasefire rather than power sharing.
He says the planned initialing will be held before a formal signing ceremony scheduled for the 26th of this month.
