Sinn Féin have been accused of "insulting" the memory of those who lost their lives in South Down in the troubles, by organising a hunger striker commemoration - planned for early August.

The key speaker for the Castlewellan event will be Sinn Fein president Mary Lou McDonald.

Quoted in today's Belfast Telegraph some victims say they are saddened to see hunger strikers being glorified in their town.
