Indian Peacekeepers celebrate Independence Day with call for non-violence in South Sudan

Indian Peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, are celebrating their country’s 72nd independence anniversary with an appeal to South Sudan to embrace the spirit of nonviolence and peaceful struggle.

Indian Independence Day is a significant national holiday, which marks the seminal moment the nation became independent from the United Kingdom.

Major Sandhya Cintury, a doctor at the UN mission level two hospital in Juba spoke with Radio Miraya in an exclusive interview and begun by describing the significance of India's independence anniversary and what lessons South Sudan can take from India.
