The future of about 80 orphans sheltered at the Confident Children out of Conflict Orphanage in Juba, hangs in the balance following a tenancy disagreement between the organisation and the church.

The land on which the orphanage is located belongs to the Episcopal church of Sudan, but the absence of a legal tenancy agreement between the orphanage and the church has put the children under threat of eviction.

The church apparently wants the orphanage to clear outstanding rental arrears dating back to 2009 when the orphanage was established and to sign a new memorandum of understanding which among others requires them to pay 8 - Thousand dollars as monthly rent.

The Director of confident children out of conflict, Helen Murshali Boro, told us that the CCC meets this Friday with the church leadership to find an amicable solution to the current impasse.

Radio Miraya has been following this story and our reporter Philip Wani, caught up with Helen Murshall Boro, the officer in charge of the orphanage to explain the news behind this headline.
