At the southern end of Jervis Bay in Booderee National Park is Murray's Beach - a popular summer tourist destination known for its brilliant white sands and clear turquoise waters. Murray's is also visited regularly by fairy penguins, who live in a protected colony on nearby Bowen Island. It’s the last place you’d imagine building a nuclear power plant, but back in 1971, this very nearly became a reality. Jack investigates.
