Authorities in Adjumani District of northern Uganda are closely monitoring the situation after inter-clan clashes among South Sudanese refugees in Nyumanzi camp.

The fighting last Friday was sparked by a disagreement between two teenagers over a lady.

Ten refugees were reportedly injured, and some suspects have been arrested as investigations continue.

Nyumanzi camp is a home to some 3,000 South Sudanese refugees who fled insecurity.

The Local Council five chairman of Adjumani District, Leku James says they are monitoring the situation to prevent a re-eruption.
