Pictures from CCTV cameras in parts of Kent will soon be able to be transmitted directly to police if there's any trouble.
Cameras in Ashford and Tenterden town centres are being upgraded and will also provide better high-res digital images.
Pictures will continue to be viewed at the town's monitoring centre and used as evidence if necessary.
