Peace campaign to be launched in Greater Upper Nile Region

A group of young activists are preparing to launch a grand peace campaign in the Greater Upper Nile Region tomorrow designed to rally the young people for peace.

This campaign backed by the Norwegian People’s Aid and other partners, is part of the activities to mark the International Day of peace celebrated annually on September 21st.

Peter Marial Biar, Executive Director and founder of Christian agency for Peace and Development says the campaign themed Hashtag BeldnaAweil - meaning our country first, seeks to engage young people to take active part in creating peaceful communities.

He says peace building is a collective effort and advised the youths to set themselves free from tribal centered actions.
