Recorded by Lise Olsen.

"Every winter, thousands of whooper swans, migrate from the Iceland to the Solway Firth. Recorded at the Whooper pond at WWT reserve at Caerlaverock on the 5th of March 2018. The centre documented the number of birds seen on the pond as 197 Whoopers swans, 57 Mute swans, 214 Mallards, 101 Wigeon, 52 Tufted ducks, 2 Moorhens, 2 Gadwall, 16 Canadian Geese, 8 teal’s and 1 Greater Scaup. The sound is dominated by the distinct honking call of many Whooper swans. The Wetland Centre attracts the birds to the area by providing a safe roosting and feeding site."
