Seven months on from the first gender pay gap reports, the prime minister’s proposing more transparency over businesses’ pay gap for ethnic minority workers. This is after the government’s race disparity audit found big differences in how Brits were treated in health, education and the justice system depending on ethnicity, and in employment, Theresa May says minority workers often feel like they’re “hitting a brick wall”. Hephzi Pemberton, founder of the Equality Group says firms should go further, while David D’Souza, director of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development explains what we can learn from reporting the gender pay gap.
