Shortage of HIV testing Kits threatens Preventive strategies

The shortage of HIV test kits in government medical centres in parts of the country, which include hospitals and clinics, is negatively affecting the fight against HIV.

Peter Garang, an HIV youth peer educator in Aweil, says the situation is alarming and there must be an immediate emergency supplies of HIV testing kits. 

« We are calling for immediate emergency supplies of this item as we lobby to ship in the major supplies because we cannot sincerely operate in a situation where we don’t have test kits at all.”
