Human Rights watch has asked both government opposition commanders to ensure that their soldiers in the Western Bahr el Ghazal region immediately stop attacking civilians and civilian property.

The call comes in response to a new report that has documented widespread atrocities committed against civilians in Wau.

In its latest report, the Human Rights group quotes eyewitnesses saying government forces in Wau State attacked and shot civilians.

Jehanne Henry, associate Africa director at Human Rights Watch, told Radio Miraya’s Gabriel Shaddar, that South Sudan’s authorities should act quickly to put a stop on the atrocities and cooperate with the African Union to establish the hybrid court.

She begins by explaining the key findings in this report.
