The South Sudan Opposition has spoken directly to IGAD and international partners urging them to support the implementation of the agreement and help close the dark history of violence.
In his speech during celebrations of the revitalized agreement, Gabriel Changson, called on the IGAD partners to speak with one voice and support the Peace process.
He said the success of implementing the revitalized agreement is critical for Peace in the country, the region and Africa at large.
“There is a lot of money being used, being spent on the humanitarian services in South Sudan; on IDPs on Refugees, that money can be cut into half or even more than half if you support the peace process, politically financially and materially.”
Gabriel Changson also called on the citizens to hold the political leadership accountable.
“You have demonstrated to us that you are for peace, make peace marches all over the country, reconcile among yourselves and close that dark chapter, we have passed through. It is you to do it. You also challenge us as your leaders, if we are going astray tell us enough is enough, you have the power.”
