Positive steps gained as Fourth Ceasefire Technical committee meets in Khartoum

Senior generals from the government and opposition parties are meeting in Khartoum for a fourth time, to discuss the status of implementation of the ceasefire.

Ruth Fenny, CTSAMM communications officer, confirmed that a joint team comprised of representatives from the government and opposition parties visited Yei last week.

She said that a senior general from the South Sudan People’s defense Forces, the SPLA – IO and the South Sudan Opposition Alliance together with CTSAMM visited Yei and engaged commanders from the SSPDF and the SPLAIO.

Ruth Fenny described the visit as a positive step in consolidating trust between the parties.
