Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro, a member of South Sudan Opposition Alliance – SSOA, says he is highly optimistic that the revitalized agreement on the resolution of the conflict in South Sudan will yield peace for the country.
In an interview with Radio Miraya, Bakasoro said both the citizens and the government are tired of war and it is time for everyone to walk the talk of peace.
“The government officials, the oppositions and many stakeholders to the peace agreement are optimistic that this agreement is going to be implemented because everybody is tired of war there is no infrastructure development, there is no service to the people."
Bakasoro also wondered;
"So, why should we only continue destroying what had been there without building a new one, so the best approach is forget, forgive each other and then move forward with this peace.”
He appealed to the people to give peace a chance, to rebuild the country.
“Let us give this peace a chance so that economic development begins to open up and grow and then we invite investors to invest in our country."
He spoke directly to South Sudan's political leadership leadership and the citizens sounding an impassioned plea; "let us stop the war, let us stop hating each other and let us stop this tribal sentiment and we unite as South Sudanese people. No single tribe will be able to stabilize and govern South Sudan, we must live in diversity and love each other.”
