Hate speech mitigation campaign changing Minds and Attitudes in refugee camps
An anti-hate speech campaign is underway in Uganda’s Kiryandongo refugee camp, aimed at instilling a spirit of peaceful coexistence among the thousands of South Sudanese refugees.
The four-month project is spearheaded by the Centre for Peace and Justice – a local South Sudanese civil society organisation based in Uganda.
Moro Stephen, the Field Officer for the Centre for Peace and Justice explains that the four-month project has resulted in camp leaders vowing to forgive their offenders and move forward in the spirit of tolerance.
