Luris Mulla Explains the prospects of peace and Stability in South Sudan
South Sudan’s national peace process reached a significant breakthrough on 12 September 2018, when President Salva Kiir and opposition leaders including Riek Machar formally signed a revitalized power-sharing deal.
This ushered hope to an end to a five-year conflict that has claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions of South Sudanese.
This week, a panel discussion was held at ‘Chatham House’ – a think tank in London focussing on the Fragility and Possibilities in South Sudan’s Peace Process.
One of the panellists at this event, was Luris Mulla, a Strategic Advisor and Entrepreneur.
In an interview with Nelson Lwak, Mulla reflects on the actions and follow-up needed to ensure the revitalised agreement translates into a genuine opportunity to foster peace and security in South Sudan.
