Tests on blood samples from a patient in Yei who health officials were concerned may have contracted Ebola have shown they are free from the deadly virus, which has killed more than 200 people in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.

World Health Organisation country representative, Dr Olushayo Olu, said that the samples had been tested at a World Health Organization-approved laboratory in Entebbe Uganda.

In this Interview with Radio Miraya’s Henry Lokuri, Dr Olu said the United Nations Health agency is working with partners to scale up surveillance against Ebola.
