The UN children’s agency is inviting the public to sign a global petition asking leaders to commit to fulfilling the rights of every child.

The petition is part of the activities to mark UNICEF’s annual World Children’s Day, which will be commemorated on Tuesday 20 November. This day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Tim Irwin, UNICEF communications officer, told Sebit William on Miraya Breakfast Show that  the global day raises awareness and vital funds for the millions of children who are unschooled, unprotected and uprooted.
