#KidsTakeOver: Children Interview UNICEF chief of Child protection, Vedasto Nsanzugwanko

UN Children’s Organization – UNICEF, says there must be full implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child to guarantee the rights of the children of South Sudan.

The convention was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on this day in 1989, spelling out civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. South Sudan ratified the convention in 2015.

UNICEF Chief of Child Protection, Vedasto Nsanzugwarko says the government and stakeholders have a responsibility to ensure this convention is fully implemented.

“We need to take responsibility all stake holders starting with government to make sure that when we talk of right to education children are taken to school we have the laws to ensure that children learn and reach their potential."
