South Connect : Vishweswar Reddy joins Congress; quits TRS

A lawmaker from Telangana's ruling party has quit and is heading for the Congress. With weeks to go for assembly elections in the state, the resignation of K Vishweshwar Reddy -- the richest parliamentarian in Telangana, with declared assets worth over Rs. 500 crore -- is seen as a deep setback for the K Chandrashekar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He will join Congress in presence of Sonia Gandhi on 23. Reddy further said he resigned due to shift in party ideolology.
