In 2022 the UK will see more internet traffic than in the whole of the last 32 years – that is, since the birth of the web.

This is according to tech giant Cisco’s annual Visual Networking Index which is predicting an explosion of online streaming, connected services and new virtual and augmented reality technology, all of which will gobble up enormous amounts of data.

But what does it mean for the UK – can our infrastructure handle it, and are our businesses ready to adapt?

Nick Howard spoke to Cisco UK’s chief technology officer, Chintan Patel, who says we’ll have to prepare.
