A joint team of SSPDF, SPLA-IO and the SSOA and opposition representatives will next week conduct a joint visit to government and opposition strongholds in the Unity area.
The visit set for next Thursday, is organized by the ceasefire monitoring mechanism – CTSAMVM, to assess areas still experiencing tension and engage local authorities.
This was one of the main resolutions that came out of the latest CTSAMVM Technical Committee meeting that closed in Khartoum yesterday.
“The purpose of the visit is to go into areas that are still experiencing some level of hostilities and engage the local authorities to find out why violations are still continuing and what can be done,” said Ruth Feeney CTSAMVM Communications Officer.
CTSAMVM has commended the parties on the progress in implementation of the revitalized agreement despite registered violations in Yei, Wau and Bentiu areas.
Ms. Feeney spoke to Philip Wani in this interview.
