"Public inclined towards softer approach to redressing human rights abuses"

Episode 672,   Dec 03, 2018, 07:33 AM

An assessment on perceptions of Transitional Justice at the grassroots suggest the public is more inclined towards a softer approach to redressing human rights abuses and violations.

Civil Society groups in October carried out an assessment and mapping exercise in the 10 former states seeking grassroot response on implementation of Chapter 5 of the Revitalized Peace agreement regarding Transitional Justice, Accountability and Reconciliation.

Executive Director for Foundation for Democracy and Accountable Governance, Jame David Kolok said the findings of the assessment also indicate a small space for civil society and the public to engage in conversations on accountability.

Jame David Kolok says there must be broader engagement of the public in the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.

He spoke to Sworo Charles Elisha in this interview.
