There's been a huge rise in the number of child cruelty and neglect offences reported to police in #Kent over the last five years...

Stats from the NSPCC show there were almost 450 reported in the county last year - up from just 85 in 2012/13.

Paula Hudgell from West Malling adopted a toddler who'd been so badly abuse by his birth parents he had to have both legs amputated.

Kent police say the public have become much more aware of child cruelty in recent years.
