‘ABC’ is best preventive strategy for HIV, says South Sudan HIV/AIDS commission

The Deputy Chairperson for the South Sudan AIDS commission is advocating for the ‘ABC’ model of prevention of HIV infections.
Dr. Acol Ayom says ‘Abstinence, Being faithful, and use of Condoms’ are key elements in stopping infections.
She also emphasizes that timely and effective treatment are essential to managing the disease to live a healthy and productive live.
HIV prevalence rates in South Sudan stand at 2.7% but Dr. Ayom fears the figures could be higher after years of conflict.
