A senior US official says the cycle of impunity must be broken to hold perpetrators of sexual and gender-based violence to account.
Jonathan Kamin, the Director of USAID's Office of Sudan and South Sudan Programs based in Washington DC is in South Sudan to visit USAID funded projects.
His visit comes timely as we commemorate the 16 days of activism campaign against sexual and gender-based violence.
Speaking on the Miraya Breakfast show, Mr. Kamin said his government is working to support the people of South Sudan in seeking peace and ending all forms of violence and abuse against women and girls.
Mr. Kamin spoke to Sebit William in this interview. He started by explaining the purpose of his visit to South Sudan.
