A group of youth known as Salaam Junub is using ‘tea drinking’ as an innovative approach to mending relations and combating hate speech.

The community social movement holds regular forums with residents of the Gurei area in Juba as they Take Tea Together – also known as TTT.

A member of Salaam Junub, Bush Buse says TTT is a creative attempt to turn an everyday activity into a useful platform for tackling community challenges.

“To date we have discussed more than 8 TTT forums in Gurei attended by more than 800 people,” expounded Buse.”

Bush Buse says the group faces a lack of funding and a fixed venue for its sessions.  Buse said they will be launching a peace program next week to showcase their activities and attract support.

He spoke to Sworo Charles Elisha in this interview.
