The Big Four audit firms are facing more accountability and even being split up after a series of high profile disasters.

Between them they review the accounts of 97 percent of the UK’s FTSE 350 firms, but from the collapse of Carillion to the pension scandal at BHS, and even forecasts for railway franchises and projects like HS2, their rubber stamp is being called into question.
