Episode 16: Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983)

Season 1,   Jan 16, 2019, 06:53 AM

GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING. This week Anthony and Alix tell a tale of two famous directors making their way to the top and given the chance to make the film of their dreams, only to have it end with their relationship destroyed. Why? Because of an on-set incident so disturbing it changed Hollywood forever. Those filmmakers? Steven Spielberg and John Landis. The film? Twilight Zone: The Movie. Don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom - John Lithgow's in this one!

The team dives into the early attempts to make a Twilight Zone during Hollywood in the 70s and 80s, a time where profitable directors were given free reign - and they used it. Which other segments were in consideration for the movie? How did Mad Max's George Miller and Gremlin's Joe Dante make their way to the picture? The team looks into the events that lead to the tragic deaths of three actors - and those responsible. The court case that resulted from this film was called "Hollywood on Trial" for good reason.

You'll find the answers to the above questions in this weeks' horrorble episode! Plus - Anthony and Alix go into which episodes they would have liked to have seen in the scrapped sequel alongside a breakdown of what made it into the film. Actually, there is one question we'd like to ask...  Wanna see something scary?

Like, subscribe, share with a friend, and please someone put John Lithgow in more movies. Thanks.
