Interview with UK Ambassador Alison Blackburne on Implementation of Revitalised Agreement in South Sudan
The UK Ambassador to South Sudan says her government is looking for real signs and commitment in the implementation process before it commits further funding to the peace process.
Alison Blackburne says there has been progress in certain areas but adds that the international community remains concerned about pockets of violence in the Equatorias – pointing at recent incidents in Yei and Goroum.
Speaking on the Radio Miraya Breakfast Show this morning, Ambassador Blackburne said her government is fully engaged in the peace process.
"UK will continue to be fully engaged and really support Peace in South Sudan which is what the people of this country really need and deserve"
Ambassador Blackburne reminded the parties to the agreement of their responsibility to cease hostilities and to ensure progress in other areas of the peace agreement.
