Civil Society activist says advocates for no extension of pre-transitional period

Episode 739,   Jan 17, 2019, 04:48 AM

A Civil Society representative says there should be no extension of the pre-transitional period despite delays in meeting deadlines spelt out in the revitalized peace agreement.

Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment for Progress Organisation – CEPO, makes the remarks as several deadlines have been missed, half-way through the 8-month pre-transitional period.

Yakani says any tasks that have not been accomplished should be handed over to the revitalized government of national unity which is expected to be formed at the end of the pre-transitional period in May.
